Ingrid Bertens

Ingrid started creating her own personal work in her home studio a few years ago. After graduating from the art academy in The Hague, she worked as a photojournalist and later as a corporate photographer.

The personal work Ingrid creates now allows her more creative freedom. She began by photographing flowers.

Ingrid loves to embrace a flower’s entire life cycle: from full bloom to withered. Every stage of life is interesting and holds its own beauty—something that is often forgotten these days.

For each piece, Ingrid decides what’s needed to tell her story; sometimes she works with daylight, other times with flash, and occasionally with water and natural pigments. She then processes the photos in Photoshop.
